Asempa FM
Asempa FM is a private radio station based in the Greater Accra Region. The Multimedia Broadcasting Group acquired Asempa FM in 2007. The all Akan station is inclined to news, sports, political and socio-economic issues. Plus it is the only station in the country with a sports morning show.
The station is nationwide in the Top Ten of most patronised radio stations with an audience share of 2.1% - according to GeoPoll's first quarterly survey in 2017. It is especially popular in the Greater Accra Region and Central Region.
Asempa FM is part of the Multimedia Broadcasting Group Limited, one of Ghana’s biggest private media groups, that covers radio, digital TV & Online. Multimedia Broadcasting Limited was established in 1994 and rolled out considerably since then: it now has six radio stations in the Ashanti Region and Greater Accra Region, six news websites and a satellite television network. In addition to Asempa FM, the group owns Joy FM, Luv FM, Nhyira FM , Hitz FM, Adom FM.Mr Kwasi Twum owns 92.5% shares in the company and GBC represented by David Anaglate also owns 7.5% shares in multimedia Group according to the Registrar General – as well as founder, CEO, and director.
