Kweku Baako Jnr.

Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, born as Kwaaku Baako Jnr owns Kweku Baako Media Limited. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide. In 2015, he was adjudged the 39th most influential person in Ghana by ETV’s online polls.

Kweku Baako is a member of the CPP (Convention People Party). His father served as a Minister of education and information for the Nkrumah government. However, he has often defended the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) policies and programmes on numerous media platforms where he appears on as a discussant.

He has suffered several arrests under the military rule led by Lieutenant Jerry Rawlings for his publications. His resolve to continue in his investigative work as a journalist continued. In 2000 his efforts paid off when he was awarded by the Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) as the journalist of the year.

Anas Aremeyaw Anas, an investigative and award-winning journalist, acts as Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide. Anas trained under Kwaku Baako Jnr and he has published some investigative pieces under his tutelage.

Kweku Baako belongs to a group of friend journalists called the ‘Coffee Shop Mafia’ who meet at a popular spot, a Coffee Shop in Labone, to discuss and debate issues of national interest. This group is perceived to have a lot of influence in the media.
