Oman FM is a commercial radio station that was established in 2006. It broadcasts in the Greater Accra Region, Central Region, Eastern Region.
The station is a patronised radio station: GeoPoll’s Media Measurement report with audience statistics on Top Radio Stations (Quarter 1 2017) places Oman FM as the 11th nationwide, with an audience share of 2%. Looking at the Greater Accra Region, it ranks 8th, with an audience share of 5%. In a survey by Goodman AMC, Oman FM was mentioned as a media news source among the top seven radio influencers that Ghanaians would trust to provide first-hand and reliable information in the 2016 presidential election. Its program, National Agenda held a trust percentage of 5% and ranked sixth among radio programs.
Oman FM Accra features amongst others music, talk shows, entertainment, and information. Its Boiling Point programme, which is hooked onto by sister radio stations across the country, is one of the most followed on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Oman FM is registered through Oman FM Limited that also operates NET 2 TV, the National Agenda newspaper, ASHH FM in Kumasi and SPICE FM in Takoradi. It was renamed as KenCity Media Limited. The founder and owner of Oman FM Media Limited is Stella Agyepong Wilson. She is married to Kennedy Agyepong, a Member of Parliament for Assin Central in the Central Region. Mr Agyepong is a close associate of the ruling New Patriotic Party. He operates as Chief Executive Officer of the media company as well as for its umbrella KenCity Group of Companies.
