ModernGhana is one of Ghana’s general news and information destinations online which started operating in August 2005. It publishes in English about news, articles, classifies, audio and video content related mostly to Ghanaian society. It quickly became an important news portal and a reference to many international readers. Today, it still remains one of the most patronised online portals, which was ranked 47th by Alexa in Ghana, being the 7th most popular news website.
ModernGhana is run by Modern Ghana Media Communication Limited. According to the company’s own statements, Bright Owusu Adamson is the CEO and the owner of the company.
According to official documents at the Registrar General’s Department, however, the company has three shareholders of which Roger Agambire Agano holds 80%. Agambire Agano also co-founded the company with no information about the other co-founder available.
William Beeko is the Editor in Chief of ModernGhana according to a questionnaire answered by the managing editor. Before that, Agambire Agano himself worked as general manager and editor-in chief for nearly seven years.
