Nana Kofi Coomson

Nana Kofi Coomson

Nana Kofi Coomson is a journalist and the founder of the newspaper ‘The Chronicle’ and its weekly edition ‘The Chronicle Saturday’. The newspaper addresses topics that range from local to international. As owner of KCI Limited, a high-performance printing facility and one of the most modern printing facilities among others in Accra, Coomson is independent of high printing costs.

Coomson started his journalistic career in 1983, while he was acquiring his first experience in Nigeria. In year 1993, he was voted to be ‘The Best Journalist of the Year’ and he was holding the presidency of PRINPAG, the Private Newspaper Publishers Association of Ghana.

After studying Media and Communications Management, he further studied Management in Developing Countries at Harvard University. In 2011, he held attention as he was criticizing the then defeated presidential candidate - and meanwhile elected President -Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. This was unexpected as Koomson was known to be a long-standing supporter of the National Patriotic Party and ‘bosom friend’ of the contemporary president.

Apart from his activities in the media sector, he also runs a number of businesses, including Forex Bureau (CK’s Bureau de Change) as well as ‘Valley Beach Hotel’ in Takoradi – registered as Choice Lodge Limited.
