Adom TV
Adom TV is one of the Multi TV channels that broadcasts on digital television since 2009. Multi TV belongs to the Multimedia Broadcasting Company Limited, an indigenous Ghanaian Company that also manages a range of other media outlets.
Adom TV has the highest audience share (18.4%) among all TV channels in the country according to Geopoll (Jan – March 2017). On December 7, 2016, the day Ghanaians went into the most recent Presidential elections, Adom TV commanded the highest audiences with over 1.2 Mio respondents saying they had watched the station at 20:30 hrs.
Besides political news, the station broadcasts diverse programmes from musical variety shows, infotainment, entertainment, religious broadcasts and sports.
Adom TV is owned by the Multimedia Broadcasting Company Limited of which Mr. Kwasi Twum is the majority shareholder with 92.5%. While the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) owns 7.5% of the remaining shares. Twum served as an Executive Chairman of Ridgecrest Services Ltd. He is an Executive Council Member of the Ghana Employers’ Association (GEA) and a Member of the Board of SOS Children’s Villages, Ghana. GBC is wholly owned by the government of Ghana.
The Multimedia Broadcasting Company Limited started its operation in 1995 with a radio station called Joy FM broadcasting from Accra. Over the past two decades, the Multimedia Broadcasting Company Limited has grown to become a conglomerate operating other media outlets such as Adom FM, Hitz FM, Asempa FM, Nhyira FM, Luv FM, myjoyonline, adomonline.com etc.
